Although we are a young and growing business, our ethos surrounding the importance of moving well and feeling well is not just limited to movement of the human body, it also encompasses the importance of freedom of movement for all human beings here in the U.S and around the globe.
It is estimated that there are over 40 million slaves in the world today (Global Slavery Index), a confronting reality that is much closer to home than you might realize. Ending modern day slavery has been a passion of Jeanne Honsaker, the Founder of Free Motion Stretch, ever since visiting SE Asia in 2013, and again in 2014, seeing firsthand the realities of human trafficking. In 2016, she joined a non-profit organization committed to finding and freeing victims of human trafficking in Thailand, India and South America. She assisted in fundraising efforts and was honored to speak to over 4,000 people in the U.S., China and Malaysia about the dangers and realities of human trafficking. When Jeanne opened Free Motion Stretch in 2019, she did not want to give up on her passion for this critical cause that affects so many.
Free Motion Stretch supports the efforts of Dressember Foundation, a foundation committed to fighting human trafficking domestically and abroad through grants to partner organizations that provide prevention efforts, rescue, and holistic aftercare. In 2019, Free Motion Stretch donated $500 to Dressember. This was entirely due to our clients! With every stretch session, YOU are supporting freedom. It is our hope and desire that every year our freedom donation will grow significantly and that together we will play a small part in slowing this global epidemic. Thank you!
